What is Basecamp?

Basecamp is Fed N Happy’s foundational soil blend—an all-in-one amendment for building new garden beds, rejuvenating depleted soil, and supporting healthier growth from the ground up.

Made with a balanced blend of worm castings, biochar, and composted organic material, Basecamp helps address three common soil challenges: limited biological activity, low organic matter, and poor soil structure.

Worm castings introduce beneficial biology. Biochar provides a stable, porous carbon structure that helps retain moisture and nutrients while creating a long-term home for microbes. Composted organic material rebuilds organic matter, helping create richer, more resilient soil.

Why should I use Basecamp with my plants?

Basecamp is full of organic matter, micronutrients, and microorganisms that work harmoniously to permit a more bioavailable, pH-resilient soil. The microorganisms naturally present in worm castings work slowly over time to continue to release vital plant nutrients.

Basecamp contains up to 10 times the nutrient levels of lawn soil, but possess low levels of essential nutrients like iron, which means it won't cause nutrient or pH burn, unlike commercial or artificial fertilizers. Also unlike traditional fertilizers, the makeup and structure of worm castings works to store and retain nutrients, preventing water leaching vital nutrients from your soil.

Increased water retention and improved aeration also improves soil structure, resulting in happier, healthier roots and plants.
